Fully rubber-coated connectors from GImota AG: solutions for the harshest environments and weather conditionsFully rubber-coated connectors from GImota AG: solutions for the harshest environments and weather conditions

In railway technology, connectors are exposed not only to constantly high levels of shock, vibration, and temperature stress but also to rapidly changing environmental conditions. To ensure they function flawlessly at all times, they must be robust enough to withstand these harsh conditions. The outstanding feature of the fully rubber-sealed connectors is their high resistance in the harshest environments and weather conditions. The elastomer used guarantees long-lasting performance in harsh environments over an extended period. Like all Gimota connectors, this connector is characterized by its ease of installation.

The fully rubber-sealed connectors have been specifically optimized and tested for rail vehicles and comply with the standard regarding smoke toxicity and flammability EN 45545-2 R22, R23 – HL1, HL2, HL3, as well as the shock and vibration standards IEC 61373:2010. The jacket is made of modified ethylene acrylate (GXF), which is characterized by high durability and flame resistance. This ensures reliable operation even under extreme conditions. For example, in regions with frequent sandstorms, or for railways traveling through desert regions. They are available with or without a shield tap (EMC). The shield connection with an iris spring ensures good and secure 360° shield contact for both partially stripped and fully exposed cable shields.

GIMOTA fully rubber-insulated sensor connectors for silicone cables

The GIMOTA EMC connector with an iris spring enables reliable and secure 360° shield contact for both partially stripped and fully exposed cable shields. The advantage of a shield spring over a crimped shield connection is greater flexibility in cable selection.

Optimal shield contact
The strong clamping of the cable shield by the shield spring guarantees excellent shield contact and ensures low transfer impedances.

Flexible Contacting Options
The Iris spring optimally compensates for varying shield thicknesses.

Fully rubber-coated
High resistance in the harshest environments and weather conditions.
